Melvin Hobbs

Melvin Hobbs

Melvin is an attorney with a JD from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a Registered Nurse with a Master of Nursing from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His educational background enables him to provide an analytical perspective from both a legal and clinical vantage point in mitigating risks.

Mr. Hobbs has extensive experience providing counsel and guidance focusing on areas of litigation, clinical operations, patient care and risk avoidance. He is well-versed in addressing insurance questions, medical malpractice defense and liability claims. Under Mr. Hobbs’ leadership, collaborative relationships with critical stakeholders have been forged. Meeting with executive leadership, physicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals has enabled Melvin to understand facilities’ specific long-term care concerns to effectively manage their levels of risk.

Pamela Lee

Pamela Lee

Mrs. Lee is a Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, for Illinois. She possesses several years of nursing and operational experience in the fields of hospital management, post-acute/rehabilitation, assisted/supportive living, and long/skilled nursing services.

She served in leadership capacities, locally and nationally, as Medical/Surgical/Rehabilitation Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing for skilled facilities, Corporate Director of Clinical Services, District Director of Clinical Services, Regional Director of Quality Services, Area Manager of Operations, Regional Director of Operations, Quality Risk Specialist and Nursing Home Administrator.

Her strong career focus and love for the older adult services subsequently lead to being a controlled witness expert in the medical- legal nursing practice as an independent Legal Nurse Consultant. With her extensive years of knowledge in identifying and the diminution of risk in senior care she currently holds the position as Vice President of Operations/Clinical Risk Management.

Sally Bryant

Sally Bryant

Sally Bryant has over 35 years of Nursing experience. She started her career as a new graduate in ICU and over the years emerged as the Clinical Director of Critical Care. She transitioned into LTACH where she focused on Quality, Policy and Procedures, and Infection Control. Later she went into Long Term Care as a DON. Her building achieved a CMS 5 Star rating, the AHCA Silver Award, and had 2 deficiency-free surveys. With an emphasis on Patient Care and Quality, her building also achieved the Governor’s God Seal Award, which is given to 1% of the Long-Term Care facilities. She then, became the Risk Manager for Long Term Care of the Lee County skilled facilities with an emphasis on Regulatory Compliance, Investigations, Medical Record Review, and Audit Trails.

Sherry Mitchell

Sherri Mitchell

Sherri Mitchell serves as the Director of Long-Term Care Risk Management. She has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 2002 and has served as a Regional Director of Operations in both Illinois and Missouri. 

Sherri founded Sherrenau Consulting, a long-term care consulting firm in 2009, and in 2011, procured a contract with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to monitor SNFs and ICFs.  During that time, Sherri also sought to work with consumers, and published the book, “Choosing a Good Nursing Home.”  In 2019, she was recruited to work for the Health Care Council of Illinois as a “Regulatory Specialist.” She was promoted to Regulatory and Reimbursement Director a year later.  In this role, Sherri operated as an intermediary between nursing homes and the IDPH.   

In the beginning of her career, Sherri served as a nursing home administrator for The Alden Group and Extended Care Clinical.  Moreover, she taught Nursing Home Administration at Wilbur Wright College.  She is certified in Health Care Compliance and is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association.

Lisa Adams

Lisa Adams is a part of the growing facet of Empire Risk Management Services. Her journey began a year following the establishing of the organization. Prior to her onboarding with Empire Risk Management Services, she held many positions in management which earned her various awards. Presently, she holds the title of Operations Manager. Whereas, she does all things to assure Empire Risk Management Services meets the needs and concerns of their clientele.
